Sir Samuel Walker Griffith was born on the 21 of June 1845 and died on the 9 of August 1920. He achieved being the Premier twice from 1883 to 1888 and again from 1890 to 1893, he was the Chief Justice of Queensland from 1893 to 1903 and the Chief Justice of the High Court from 1903 to 1919. Sir Samuel Walker Griffith made a big contribution and influence to law and politicts both in Queensland and Australia. It is his contribution to Federation and the drafting of the Constitution of Australia that is recognised the most. He is buried with his wife Julia and thier son Llewellyn at the Toowong Cemetry. His grave is four stone blocks on top of each other. Sir Samuel Walker Griffith is remembered by the naming of Griffith University.
